Attorneys 4 All Holds Partnership Meeting With The Sierra Leone Police

On 16th October 2026, Attorneys 4 All (A4A) held a partnership meeting with the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) at the CID Headquarters in Freetown to explore opportunities for collaboration in promoting access to justice and establishing a data-sharing framework. A4A expressed appreciation to the SLP leadership for hosting the meeting and provided an overview of its vision, mission and operations. In response, the SLP welcomed the proposed partnership and expressed its willingness to formalise collaboration through continuous engagement.

Representatives of the Family Support Unit (FSU) and Gender Directorate outlined their respective mandates in addressing domestic violence, child abuse, sexual offences and other forms of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). They also highlighted existing collaborations with relevant institutions and explained the procedures for accessing information through formal requests.

Following constructive deliberations, both institutions agreed in principle to establish a formal partnership and develop an appropriate data-sharing framework covering SGBV and related matters. The discussions emphasised the importance of institutional cooperation, effective referrals, information sharing and coordinated interventions to strengthen access to justice, particularly for vulnerable women, children and survivors of abuse. An interactive question-and-answer session provided further clarification on the proposed collaboration and its implementation. A4A reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and the protection of sensitive information concerning victims and survivors, while both institutions recognised the importance of sustained engagement in achieving their shared objectives.
